After declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft, it was expected that Utah State quarterback Jordan Love would get a Senior Bowl nod. He accepted an invitation to the famed all-star game on Tuesday, but then was immediately hit with bad news.
Love was charged along with two Utah State teammates with marijuana possession. While this charge might not be taken as seriously as it once did, it will still be cause for concern considering the timing of it.
In Mobile, Love will undoubtedly have to answer questions about this charge and any potential off-field habits, as NFL teams will question whether or not he can become the face of their franchise.
Love has the ability to be an NFL-level starter despite a statistical regression this season. Still, the pre-draft process was going to be his opportunity to rebuild his stock, and it’s safe to say it’s gotten off to an uneasy start.
